I’m p sure we all know that under his crabby shell, Karkat is made of squishy love and feelings. He really cares about his friends and he wants to make sure that everyone he knows is happy and safe.
Tavros is dead.
Nepeta is dead.
Equius is dead.
Vriska is dead.
Eridan is dead.
Feferi is dead.
Gamzee is missing.
They left behind Aradia and Sollux.
The two humans he was closest to he’s separated from for three years.
He started playing a game with eleven friends and two of them are still with him now.
Not to mention the code he ran right before he started playing, if he still remembers it.

I wonder why he doesn’t want to make new friends.
